DHB nurses have been offered a 4.5 per cent pay increase over
three years in a new deal proposed by DHBs.
New Zealand Nurses Organisation (NZNO) members can start voting on the terms of the
proposed multi-employer collective (MECA) agreement on 14
February, an NZNO media release says.
The offer includes a 2 per cent pay increase from 1 March this year
followed by a 1.5 per cent increase from 1 March 2013 and a further
1 per cent pay increase from 1 March 2014.
The term of the MECA is from 1 March this year to 28 February
2015.
NZNO members rejected the original
MECA offer from the 20 DHBs in October last year after months
of negotiations starting in July last year (>>nzdoctor.co.nz,
'News', 7 October 2011).
That offer included a 2 per cent lump sum payment to be paid in
October last year followed by a 2.5 per cent pay increase on 1
October this year.
