MO BRO's PROGRESS: Auckland doctor David Codyre is thinking of changing of changing his name to Iggy Pop

Auckland psychiatrist David Codyre has just five days to go before his mo comes off.

So he’s making the most of it, ageing rocker style.

It’s a suitable look for a radio star – Dr Codyre is the resident mental health expert on the Sunday evening show “The Nutters Club” on Radio Live.

Dr Codyre is the “Nutcracker” to comedian Mike King’s “The Nut King” on a show that encourages members of the public, especially men, to discuss their mental health issues.

The show is supported by funding from the Mental Health Foundation, a recipient of money raised through Movember, along with the Cancer Society.

Results of an independent study released today show nearly half of all New Zealanders have been affected by mental illness in some way.

The study was commissioned by Movember.
