In the story “Watch prescribing of paroxetine GPs told”, production error meant a quote ("I wouldn't prescribe it at all really") is incorrectly attributed to Dr Matthews. The speaker was one of two specialist child and adolescent psychiatrists referred to earlier in the story

In the initial version of the above story, nzdoctor.co.nz understood that Dr Jansen had withdrawn legal action. It has since come to light this was not the case and we apologise for the error.

In the initial version of this story, nzdoctor.co.nz reported that Dr Gray couldn't recall a defamation case raised by a doctor in the past. This has been corrected to Dr Gray couldn't recall a defamation case raised by a doctor against a patient in the past. We apologise for the error.

This story mistakenly implied overall Vote Health would decrease in the coming Budget whereas what was meant was that the level of NEW funding would decrease compared to the two previous Budgets.
The sentence has been corrected to read
"While Mr Ryall says practices will get the mandated 2 per cent increase in capitation funding, he reiterated once again that health at large would see a significant decrease in new funding compared to the last two Budgets."

In a story which appeared online 24 January 2011 (New medical indemnity provider enters market), Aon is mistakenly referred to as an insurance company. It is a brokering firm, not an insurance company. New Zealand Doctor apologises for this mistake. The story has now been corrected.
