The aged residential care sector welcomes the $89.5 million over
four years announced in the Budget, saying the Government has
delivered on its promises.
The new money certainly go a long way towards addressing the aged
residential care sector's problems with increasing nurses' wages
Healthcare Providers New Zealand chief executive Martin Taylor
says.
Nurses wages have been pushed up by the DHBs' MECA and this will
compensate the sector for that, Mr Taylor says.
This Government understands the way public sector wages put
pressure on private sector wages, he says.
