MedRecruit outgun the big boys to take out the Supreme Award in the Westpac Queenstown Business Excellence Awards 2010

A world class team with a combined goal to listen to and help doctors create a lifestyle and fulfilling career in medicine is the key to locum medical recruitment agency, MedRecruit, beating out big competition to win a trifecta of awards including the Supreme Award in the Westpac Queenstown Business Excellence Awards 2010 on Saturday night.

The Queenstown based medical recruitment agency won the 'Medium Sized Business Award', the 'Young Entrepreneur Award' (awarded to founder Dr Sam Hazledine), and trumped international businesses such as AJ Hacket Bungy and Skycity Casino to take out the 'Supreme Award' at the gala dinner awards held at the Skyline Restaurant.

"I am honoured to have won this given the quality competition, especially AJ Hackett and Henry van Asch who have inspired and motivated me in my business journey.", says MedRecruit's founder and managing director Dr Sam Hazledine.

Dr Hazledine says doctors deserve to be looked after and attributes MedRecruit's massive business growth to the positive experiences and holistic success doctors are having working with the recruitment agency.

"Business is very much a team game. I started MedRecruit with the clear vision and absolute desire to improve the lives of all doctors in Australasia. Four years on we now have an entire team at MedRecruit which shares this vision and passion and it is because of our quality team we are able to have such a big impact."

MedRecruit has grown over 1000% in the past four years, and currently has a staff of 16 people. Growth continues with an office on the Gold Coast opening in February requiring six new team members who are currently being recruited.

Queenstown Chamber of Commerce CEO, Ann Lockhart, says the Awards aim to raise the bar across all aspects of business, encouraging business excellence and celebrating regional achievements in the business arena.

Ms Lockhart says judging focuses on management strategy, business improvement and achieving success.

"MedRecruit is an incredible business that has won the Supreme Award because of the impressive results it's delivering. Sam and his team have built a phenomenally successful business in a very short period of time.

"MedRecruit also demonstrates that entrepreneurs with the right mindset can successfully create businesses with large international impact and they can do it from Queenstown". Ms Lockhart says.

MedRecruit has also featured in the Deloitte Fast 50 Awards in 2009 and 2010 being recognised for its fast growth.
