Media relase from Hawke's Bay DHB
Hawke's Bay District Health Board's Clinical Council will meet for
the first time on September 29.
The council, which is the first of its kind in New Zealand,
represents the health sector in Hawke's Bay. Its role is to provide
clinical advice to the DHB on any proposed changes to the DHB's
service as well as oversight of clinical quality and patient
safety.
Chief executive Kevin Snee said engagement with clinicians across
the health sector was fundamental to breaking down any barriers
that might exist to make sure health care met the needs of the
community.
The council has 16 members from general practice, allied health,
nursing, midwifery, hospital clinical directors and public health.
(A full list is attached)
Chief medical officer primary care Peter Foley and Chief medical
officer hospital John Gommans will co-chair the council which will
meet monthly.
The meetings will not be open to the public but the council will
report to the DHB's governance board.
