New Zealand Olympic Committee Expressions of Interest: Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games Medical Support

The New Zealand Olympic Committee is seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified medical practitioners to support the New Zealand Team during the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games.

Two positions;

- Health Team Leader
- Doctor

With the 2022 Games taking place amidst an ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, there will be a range of healthcare skill sets required to ensure the safety and performance of the New Zealand team. The complex and time pressured environment of the Games requires individuals that are good communicators, experienced at working under pressure and motivated to assist the New Zealand team perform at its best. The NZOC is looking to recruit a range of medical practitioners with expertise in general medicine, musculoskeletal medicine and infectious disease (amongst other potential skills), to complement the sport specific knowledge already established.

Applicants will be required assist in the medical preparation of the team prior to leaving for Birmingham, travel to the UK to clinically support the team during the Commonwealth Games in July / August 2022 for up to four weeks, and complete any MIQ requirements on return to New Zealand.

Applicants must be New Zealand registered medical practitioners, with the ability to travel and work internationally. Successful applicants will be highly motivated by the rare opportunity to provide healthcare support to elite New Zealand Athletes at their pinnacle sporting event.
