GP - Locum

We are looking for enthusiastic individuals to join our team at Golden Bay Community Health. Permanent and fixed term/casual contracts are available. You will join six other (part-time) permanent GPs as
part of a great rural team.

GBCH is an integrated purpose-built facility comprising ARC, acute admission beds, general practice, allied health services, midwifery services and visiting specialists. Duties will include general practice consultations as well as daily rotating cover of acute presentations, Aged Residential Care medical support and management of our five acute beds.

We have a strong and supportive nursing team and, together, provide a range of services on site including point of care blood test, x ray and simple fracture management, thrombolysis, IV treatments.

The posts will also include on-call responsibilities designed to maintain 24-7 medical cover for the community (approx. 1 in 7) – rural ACC and PRIME contracts apply.

The successful applicants will be employed by Nelson Bays PHO and salaried according to experience. This includes 6 weeks annual leave, 2 weeks study leave and a generous educational allowance.

We require: 1 in 7 on call - week nights and weekends Current Level 7 ACLS. Fellowship with RNZCGP or equivalent, or on the pathway towards Fellowship.

We prefer: Rural experience, although a thorough orientation will be provided. PRIME trained. Areas of interest/expertise that can be developed further, e.g. Paediatrics, Radiology.
