Associate director Student Health

Associate director Student Health

Student Services Division

Can you bring significant experience in strategic leadership and healthcare management to make a positive impact on tertiary students? If so, the University of Waikato could be your next career move.

As Associate Director Student Health you’ll manage our Student Health Service, which provides health, counselling and disability support services to all our students. In this senior management role you’ll work with University colleagues and external organisations to develop and deliver strategies to ensure we continue to provide quality primary health services. You’ll oversee the business, financial and HR aspects of the Student Health Service, ensure that culturally appropriate services are provided for a diverse range of students and look for opportunities to continue to develop and improve the service.

Along with a strong track record in project management and implementing improvements, you’ll need to bring significant experience in strategic leadership and senior management, ideally in healthcare services, and in budget and operational management. To go with that, you’ll have a relevant tertiary qualification, preferably at postgraduate level.

You’ll bring a reasonable knowledge of general and mental health, as well as the ability to relate well to students and understand the issues that they face.

You’ll be a confident, influential leader who’s comfortable expressing your ideas, and who can get others with you to collaborate on building your vision. With your outward focus, you’ll be able to plan strategies with the wider picture in mind.

This role should appeal if you’re ready to use your clinical and strategic sense where it’s highly valued. Students can be in a vulnerable position, and you’ll be ensuring that their health and wellbeing are well-supported so they can focus on their education and building their futures.

Salary will depend on qualifications, skills and experience.

The position will remain open until filled.    Vacancy number: 370479
