A pity they didn't also have a placebo arm to the trial. I seem to remember previous studies which suggest that aciclovir ointment, as opposed to oral aciclovir, is also no better than petroleum jelly (Vaseline).

I'm glad to see they were using Kanuka honey rather than Manuka.

Absolutely Martin; that is my recollection too. None of the media reports seem to have picked up on this.
