We are a Cornerstone accredited integrated family health centre, caring for an enrolled population of 6,700, patients, providing a wide range of services, including acute services, minor operations and nurse-led clinics.We are looking for a permanent full time/part time GP to join our wonderful team of doctors.

You will be working with a highly respected group of GP colleagues and skilled nurses, supported by an experienced reception and administration
team. We are based in a small beach side community, with another remote clinic out at the beautiful Parua Bay.

Candidates will have a demonstrated interest in the health and well being of young people. A background in adolescent, mental health, sexual or women’s health would be advantageous as would experience and/or interest in sports and travel medicine. The practice is committed to health promotion/prevention activities.

This position is ideal for general practitioners who would like to combine private general practice or other responsibilities with regular clinical work in the education sector. Some flexibility in hours is necessary however we can work with you for part-time sessions

The Organisation

ETU Pasifika is an Integrated Primary Care, Behavioural and family Services organisation based in Christchurch. The organisation is wholly owned by Pasifika Medical Association a Charitable Limited Liability Company. We are currently developing and delivering an exciting new model of care which is relationship based, integrated, family driven, community supported and culturally anchored. The population we serve is primarily a Pacific and refugee community which is diverse. The organisation has 25 staff including General practice registrars and is in the final stages of Cornerstone accreditation.

The role

The Medical Director role will join a young and highly motivated leadership group consisting of Nursing, Navigational, Behavioural, Administrative and Cultural Leaders who are responsible for the strategic and operational development of the service offering to families and communities within the Christchurch region.

We are seeking a suitably qualified and vocationally registered Fellow of the College of GPs, preferably with teaching experience. Your role will include dedicated teaching time and protected management time to enable you to contribute fully to the ongoing development of the service. You will have some experience in working with Pacific, refugee or migrant communities and will ideally have cultural capability within a community. We will provide support and training in this area. You will be data passionate and able to drive efficient and effective performance improvement projects in the service. You will welcome innovation and be flexible in your approach. This is not a traditional General Practice model and is not based on 10 minute appointments. It is an integrated team based model, responsive and flexible to the needs of those we serve. We offer a very attractive remuneration package, will invest in your ongoing development and training and will provide a generous leave provision and other benefits.

• School Based Health Services (SBHS) - Lead GP role (4 hours per week) and 4 hours per week in a School Based Health Service.
• Part-time GP – The Youth Health Clinic, Henderson (between 4 and up to 20 hours per week)

We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated GPs. Days and sessions are negotiable for the right candidates in line with the service needs.
The ideal candidates will be vocationally registered and passionate about delivering culturally informed interventions for Rangatahi and their whānau. You will need to be an excellent communicator, able to establish a good rapport with young people from diverse backgrounds, as well as sound clinical competence, and familiarity with using the HEeADSSS assessment tool. Great IT skills and proficient knowledge of Medtech desirable.

Medical Consultant in Palliative Care (FTE 1.0)

Mary Potter Hospice provides free palliative care for the people of the Wellington Region. We have a 12 bedded Inpatient Unit, and a strong Community team. We take a multi-disciplinary approach in order to provide holistic care for our patients and their families.

We are currently recruiting for a Medical Consultant in Palliative Care with excellent communication skills to join our growing medical team working in the community. This is a newly established position to support our community teams caring for patients at home.

The role will encompass assisting the teams with triage, initial assessments, care planning for complex scenarios, day service clinics, and visits to patient’s homes. You will provide backup for the In-patient Unit and the Hospice afterhours service. As a consultant, you will be involved with the education and support for primary care providers and medical students, and contribute to the Hospice education programme and the training of Junior Doctors.
