In a decision released today, deputy health and disability commissioner Vanessa Caldwell has found a dentist breached the Code of Health and Disability Services Consumers’ Rights (the Code) for failing to provide a woman with the necessary information to give informed consent for a tooth extraction and for conducting the procedure with an inadequate level of care.
