Adult attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and adult autism spectrum disorder are fairly new and exciting areas of research in psychiatry. In this article, Sidhesh Phaldessai examines our increasing understanding of the symptom presentation and management of these neurodevelopmental disorders in adults, which is forcing a significant revision of how we understand and treat a range of psychological symptoms in adults, including secondary anxiety, mood and personality disorder
