Interim analysis: Who’s who at Te Whatu Ora now

The creation of new central health agency Te Whatu Ora – Health New Zealand on 1 July saw it acquire a workforce of around 80,000 people working in the public health system from day one. The structure of the new agency had been worked on by the Health and Disability Review Transition Unit and the interim board of Te Whatu Ora but more work was planned in the first three to six months, nutting out the structure. In the interim, a number of former senior health managers, including some former DHB chief executives, have taken on interim roles in the sector. To date, only a few permanent positions have been announced, with more announcements expected in the next few months.
