In a report released today, Deputy Health and Disability Commissioner Vanessa Caldwell has found a massage therapist breached the Code of Health and Disability Services Consumers’ Rights (the Code).
The patient's complaint was submitted via the Nationwide Health and Disability Advocacy Service and regarded the massage therapist’s alleged unprofessional behaviour during the massage, including potential boundary violations, and the unprofessional environment of the massage clinic.
The report discusses the care provided to the woman by the massage therapist and finds the standard of care provided breached the code.
